Hawaiian-Canadian Tenor, Dustin Lee Hiles, is proving himself to be an exciting young performer. Canadian Television (CTV) heralds him as one of "Canada's next great Opera Star....The next Ben Heppner". Dustin Lee enjoys a busy schedule as opera singer, recitalist, and crossover artist.
"With closed eyes, one would think the voice ...belongs to a tenor with decades of experience" says the Abbotsford- Mission Times and The BC Catholic.

Hiles’ dramatic lyricism is described by The Abbotsford-Mission Times as "Heart Rendering". He credits his dramatic and musical insight to the continued mentoring of Soprano Heather Thomson and Maestro Imre Pallo. Vocal studies and engagements have brought him under the mentorship of such artists as Tracy Dahl, Judith Forst, Nancy Hermsiton, Siegfried Jerusalem, Gaetan Laperriere, Maria Pelligrini, Perry Price, Kelly Robinson, John Estacio, and John Murrell.

His professional début was made, at age fourteen, as a principal soloist in the Vancouver Symphony's Singalong Messiah under conductor Bruce Pullan, At the Orpheum Theatre. His principal début was made as Frederick in The Pirates of Penzance with the Langley School of Fine Arts.

At eighteen his performances in Opera include John Estacio's Filemena (Summer 2005) becoming the youngest operatic performer to participate in the Banff Center's Opera as Theater programme, Donizetti's L' elisir d'amore and Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro with Burnaby Lyric Opera. With the University of British Columbia, Dustin has worked as assistant director in their Opera Ensemble productions of Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and George Ryan's The Ghost in the Turret (world premiere). He made his debut, with the Ensemble, In their 2005 production of Massenet's Manon and is engaged to make his Vancouver Opera début in their 2007 production of Puccini's Tosca. Concert highlights include Magic Moments in Operetta and Wunschkakanzert in Vancouver, Abbottsford, and Chiliwack. And Dean Regan's Tribute to Irving Berlin at the Surrey Arts Theatre. He has also performed as a guest artist with the Winnipeg and Fraser Valley Symphony's.

Passionate about his work in the community, Dustin Lee has appeared on Much Music Canada, Canadian Idol, The Sports Network (TSN), The Wilf Ray Show, and Shaw Channel 4 to talk about the renewal of opera and classical music among young people. He has had the great privilege of performing for Prime Minister Steven Harper, Halle Berry, and Deborah Voigt. Dustin Has given concerts for the Liberal Party of Canada, the BC Liberal Party, The 2010 Winter Olympic Committee, Grey Cup Vancouver 2005, Canadian & American Legion, Canadian & American Lions Club, and the Italian Cultural Centre, Vancouver. He is now a first year student at St. Andrew's Collage Univ. Of Manitoba and is studying voice under Soprano Tracy Dahl.
